Clioquinol
Clioquinol is an antifungal agent that works by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA and RNA in fungi, thereby disrupting their cellular metabolism. It belongs to the class of drugs known as quinolone derivatives.
Clioquinol antifungal cream is indicated for the topical treatment of fungal infections of the skin, including ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch.
Clioquinol antifungal cream should be applied topically to the affected area(s) of the skin two to three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional. The cream should be applied thinly and evenly, and gently rubbed into the skin until it is absorbed.
Adverse reactions to Clioquinol antifungal cream may include:
- itching
- burning
- irritation or stinging
- redness
- swelling
Before using Clioquinol antifungal cream, patients should be advised of the following warnings and precautions:
- Clioquinol antifungal cream is for topical use only, and should not be used on the eyes or mucous membranes.
- If an allergic reaction occurs, treatment should be discontinued and the patient should seek medical attention immediately.
- Clioquinol antifungal cream should be used with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to quinolones.
- Clioquinol antifungal cream should be used with caution in patients with impaired hepatic or renal function.

Contraindication
Clioquinol antifungal cream is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to quinolones or any of the other ingredients in the cream.
