Riboflavin + Vitamin B1

Riboflavin + Vitamin B1 is a combinational preparation of the two vitamins. Riboflavin, also known as Vitamin B2 is on of the B vitamins. This vitamin is required for the formation of two major coenzymes, flavin mononucleotide (FMN; also known as riboflavin-5'-phosphate) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) (FAD). These coenzymes play critical roles in energy production, cellular function, growth, and development, and fat, drug, and steroid metabolism.

The B1 vitamin, often known as thiamine, allows the body to utilize carbohydrates for energy. It is required for glucose metabolism and is important for nerve, muscle, and cardiac function.

This preparation is indicated for the deficiency of the vitamins and malnutrition.'

The usual dosage of Riboflavin + Vitamin B1 for adults is 1.3mg + 1.2 mg. 

Riboflavin + Vitamin B1 preparations are generally well tolerated. In some people, the urine may turn orange. In case of overdosage, the following side effects may appear.

  • Diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain

Free-form riboflavin may potentially be associated with an anaphylactic reaction.

Contraindication

Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the formulation.

There is no known contraindications of the preparation in terms of food and drinks.
