Doxycycline Hydrochloride + Tylosin Tartrate
Doxycycline Hydrochloride + Tylosin Tartrate is a combination of two antibiotics that are commonly used in veterinary medicine. Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
Doxycycline Hydrochloride + Tylosin Tartrate is indicated in gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by tylosin and doxycycline sensitive micro-organisms, like Bordetella, Campylobacter, Chlamydia, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Rickettsia, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Treponema spp. in calves, goats, poultry, sheep and swine.
- For oral administration only.
- Calves, goats and sheep: Twice daily, 5 g per 100 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days.
- Poultry and swine: 1 kg per 1000 - 2000 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
- For pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.
The following side effects may appear in the treated animals-
- Discoloration of teeth in young animals
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Diarrhea
- The antibiotic combination must be withdrawn before slaughter in the following timely manner-
- Calves, goats and sheep : 14 days.
- Swine : 8 days.
- Poultry : 7 days.
- Not for use in animals from which milk or eggs are produced for human consumption.
Contraindication
- Contraindicated in animals with Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines and/or tylosin.
- Concurrent administration of penicillins, cephalosporins, quinolones and cycloserine is contraindicated.

- Administration to animals with a seriously impaired hepatic function.
- Administration to animals with an active microbial digestion.
