Amoxicillin Trihydrate + Colistin Sulphate

Amoxicillin Trihydrate + Colistin Sulphate is a combination of two antibiotics. Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Colistin is a polymyxin antibiotic that disrupts the cell membrane of bacteria, leading to cell death. The combination of these two antibiotics is used to provide a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria.

Amoxicillin Trihydrate + Colistin Sulphate is effective against infections caused by bacteria susceptible to the combination of amoxycillin and colistin, like respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urogenital infections and secondary bacterial infections during the course of viral diseases in cattle, calves and pigs.

The dosage and administration of Amoxicillin Trihydrate + Colistin Sulphate will depend on the animal's weight, severity of the infection, and the veterinarian's discretion. However, the following are general guidelines for dosing:

  • Dogs and cats: 5-10 mg/kg of amoxicillin and 2.5-5 mg/kg of colistin, administered twice daily for 5-7 days.
  • Cattle: 10-20 mg/kg of amoxicillin and 5-10 mg/kg of colistin, administered twice daily for 5-7 days.
