Remarks |
Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate
Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate is a combination of two compounds that work together to relieve symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn. Potassium bicarbonate is an alkaline substance that neutralizes stomach acid, while sodium alginate is a compound that forms a protective barrier on top of the stomach contents, preventing acid from refluxing back into the esophagus.
Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as heartburn, regurgitation, and chest pain. It is also used to relieve symptoms of acid reflux, including indigestion, belching, and bloating.
Tablets:
The recommended dose of Potassium Bicarbonate + Sodium Alginate for adults is 2 tablets, taken orally up to 4 times a day, as needed. The tablets should be chewed and swallowed with water. For children under the age of 12, the use of this medication is not recommended, as there is not enough evidence to support its safety and effectiveness in this age group.
Suspension:
- Adults and children 12 years and above: 5-10 ml (1-2 teaspoonfuls) 3-4 times daily, after meals and before bedtime.
- Children 2-12 years: 2.5-5ml (½-1 teaspoonful) 3-4 times daily, after meals and before bedtime.
