Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate

Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate is a combination drug that belongs to the class of chondroprotective agents. Diacerein inhibits the interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) cytokine and thereby reduces inflammation, while Glucosamine Sulphate stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans, thereby improving the joint structure and function.

 

Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate is used to treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis & rheumatoid arthritis, such as pain and reduced mobility. The drug is used for patients who have not responded adequately to non-pharmacologic treatments and simple analgesics.

 

The recommended dose for adults is one capsule/ tablet twice daily, preferably during or after a meal.

 

The most common adverse reactions reported with Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate include:

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • Abdominal pain
  • Headache
  • Skin rash and itching
  • Dizziness

 

  • Diacerein + Glucosamine Sulphate should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women, as there is limited data on its safety in these groups.

Contraindication
